A pupil at Rowley Hall Primary school received an early Christmas present this week when she won Connaught Education's 2010 Christmas Card Competition. Mrs Townsend, the Head of Rowley Hall Primary School situated in Rowley Regis, West Midlands was also presented with a cheque of £150 for the school in recognition of the winning entry.
Connaught Education, a specialist agency supplying teachers and support staff across schools in the UK ran the competition and were pleasantly surprised by the volume of entries. Allan O'Neill, Managing Director stated, "the quality of the competition was so strong that we decided that we had to add 2nd and 3rd prizes to acknowledge the strength of the competition. The children and their schools' should be very proud of their efforts. It has been great to see schools participating in this event which we set out to encourage children to be creative and get involved."
Connaught Education presented the winner with her choice of prize, an exclusive pop-up book. This was followed with presentations of book vouchers to a pupil at Birmingham Rathbone for 2nd prize and another at Chuckery Primary School in Walsall for 3rd prize. The winning design has been transformed into Connaught Education's annual Christmas card for 2010 and has been distributed to schools across London and the West Midlands.
