Marking the end of the academic year, Connaught Education hosted a hugely successful pub quiz raising much needed funds for local charity Noah's Ark Trust who provide a grief support service for children, young people and their families.
Teams consisting of Connaught Education consultants, candidates and clients enjoyed an evening's entertainment battling it out to win first prize. Heated debate surrounded some of the trickier questions of the evening. For those who didn't attend, can you work out why the answer to how many shots a tennis player's needs in order to win a set of tennis is 12...?
The quiz night proved to be an enjoyable night for all attending. Quiz Master Matthew is looking forward to challenging all of the generous participants once again at the next event!
Dear Connaught Education
I am writing to thank you so much for donating the money raised at last week's Connaught pub quiz to Noah's Ark Trust. We are very grateful for the fantastic amount raised, and can assure you that the money will make a real difference to the lives of bereaved children locally.
Noah's Ark Trust works throughout Herefordshire and Worcestershire, offering a free service of safe and sound support to all young people affected by the death of someone close to them. We aim to relieve the mental, spiritual and physical distress of children and young people experiencing bereavement, through group work, one to one support and mentoring.
The Trust offers help in a variety of ways and according to individual needs. Through support from the Bereavement Service Coordinators who work 'one to one' with children. At residential weekends called "camp", where Noah's Ark volunteers continue that support, bereaved children benefit by learning to treasure memories, smile, have fun and reassess the value of life. Parents are also invited to participate in their own residential weekend camp, which is run concurrently with the children's camp.
We rely heavily on fundraising and donations from our local community to continue to offer our services free of charge and so we greatly appreciate your generosity.
My thanks once again - we girls in the Pens Meadow Team all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It was a super night.
Yours sincerely
Susie Thacker Trustee
