Accommodation Officer – Independent School

Our client is a well-regarded independent school with an excellent reputation locally and across London. The school is part of a wider group of independent schools and has a Head Office nearby.
We are currently looking for a well organised and enthusiastic Accommodation Officer, to manage a team of boarding Assistants. The Accommodation Officer will support the pastoral and welfare of students, as well as taking the lead in Safeguarding issues.
To be considered for the position of Accommodation Officer, you must have excellent personal skills, an understanding of safeguarding and ne a key part of the out of hour’s team. Also the need to be highly organised and able to work in a busy environment is essential.
Summary of the role:
The post holder will oversee the boarding rota, hold regular meetings on site, liaise with Head Office and provide regular operational reports. The Accommodation Officer will be the key contact for all operational issues on site. The Accommodation Officer will also assist with marketing, promotion and letting of student accommodation and undertake viewings with prospective families, agents and key stakeholders. A key element of the Accommodation Officer’s role is to ensure the team manage welfare checks and evening curfew checks for all boarding students. The Accommodation Officer will also coordinate key administrative duties, and provide termly reports regarding student’s progression and welfare in general.
Essential Criteria:
- An excellent understanding of safeguarding
- Experience of working with students, ideally in a residential setting and within an educational establishment
- Experience of supporting international students
- Have a good understanding of student welfare and wellbeing
- An understanding of UK education system (A Levels, GCSE) and university entrance
- Experience of writing written reports
- Flexible approach to the changing demands and dynamics of the role
- Educated to Degree level

- Experience of Independent schools
