Computing Teacher

Computing Teacher – Independent Sixth Form

Location: Cambridge
Start Date: September 2020 or ASAP
Timetable: Part-Time

Our client, an independent sixth form in Cambridge, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Computing Teacher to join their high achieving, well-regarded institution.

The sixth form is part of a wider group of independent schools that caters to a mix of local and international students. Academic achievement is well above average and many students go on to Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities in the UK and leading universities around the world. As well as KS5, the college also tutor for undergraduate and foundation degree level as well as Pre-U.

Currently, the college requires an outstanding Computing Teacher to support the smooth running of the department. The Computing Teacher will teach engaged students with high aspirations. The successful Computing Teacher applicant will likely be a Computer Science graduate who is knowledgeable in their field, having excellent academics themselves. They will be confident to teach A-level material to A* ability students including C+ and Python programming languages. They will also possess a natural ability to build rapport with young people and be able to break complex ideas and topics down to accessible chunks that students can retain.

There is some flexibility with the timetabling so this role could be more or fewer hours (between 12-18 hours per week) on a part-time teaching timetable or something full-time if the candidate can offer something else to the school in addition. If a teacher wanted to offer a second subject there might also be scope for this as well.

If you do have the relevant requirements and would like to be considered for this opportunity please send through your CV, or call Phil at Connaught for more information.
