Our client, an independent sixth form college, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Pastoral and Academic Middle Leader to join forward thinking school.
The college is one of London’s most renowned and successful sixth form colleges. They are fully co-educational and accept around 500 students each year, providing preparation for GCSE and advanced level examinations, as well as Oxbridge Entrance. The institution promotes a relaxed yet collegiate atmosphere combined with a strict attitude to attendance and work. As well as the typical independent school features, such as small classes, abundant flexibility and plenty of communication with parents, this institution focuses on what it takes achieve to the highest standard academically. Students of this college typically apply to Oxbridge and Russell group universities and the college goes to great length to aid pupils in their goals. The school’s inspection report received the highest award in all 8 areas under scrutiny.
There is currently a vacancy for a director of studies to join this successful and prestigious organisation. The role of director of studies requires academic and pastoral supervision of a small cohort of sixth form learners. In addition to mentoring pupils, the role also requires line management of key teachers and heads of faculty in the school. The new director of studies will form an essential part of a small team of middle leaders who report directly to the Principal. It is desired that the incoming director of studies will also have a teaching timetable alongside their other duties.
The salary range is on the school’s own generous scale and dependent on experience.
