Early Years Practitioner – Independent Pre-Prep School

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 (dependent on experience)
The school is a Nursery and Pre-Prep school in North London and was established to provide children between the ages of 2 and 7+ years with the highest standard of education and care.
This role is within an Early Years class, in a team with a Team Leader who oversees the team. Each member of staff in the team will lead on some specific areas of strength in the curriculum and support in other lessons and snack and play duties.
The school has two buildings – the first school is for the children between the ages of 2 and 3 years. The second school is for children between the ages of 3 and 7+ years. Both buildings have been designed to provide spacious indoor and outdoor environments.
The school believe in a well-rounded education that nurtures the individual and offers an environment in which pupils learn without limits. They offer a broad and balanced curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum.
The role involves varying teaching patterns – the first shift starts at 7.00am-4.00pm and the last shift is 9.00am-6.00pm. Other shifts include 8.15am-5.15pm, 8.30am-5.30pm and 8.45am-5.45pm. These are organised at the beginning of each term and distributed fairly so that staff have a variety of shifts. They are changed termly.
A suitable candidate profile may include:
- Minimum QTS OR Level 3 Cache OR Level 3 Early Years Qualification OR an Early Years Degree
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
- A friendly, approachable and supportive personality
