English Teacher – Independent Prep School

Our client, an independent boy’s preparatory school in West London, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of English teacher to join their successful and thriving department.
Our client is an established prep school with an excellent reputation across London thanks to its excellent teaching, broad curriculum and high pupil aspirations. The prep school has around 400 boys on roll ages 4 to 13 and feeds to some of the best selective senior schools in London. The ability of the pupils is mixed on entry but achievement is high throughout the school and pupils well exceed the national average.
There is currently a vacancy for an English teacher to join the school on a contract lasting one term starting from September. The role requires teaching English throughout the upper school which includes KS2 and KS3 level teaching. The teaching timetable will be full school hours and it is expected that the successful candidate will fully commit to the school’s broad extracurricular programme as well. Class sizes are kept small and the pupils are engaged and well behaved.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and an excellently presented teacher. Someone with experience of teaching towards prep school exams would be valued however this isn’t strictly necessary and a dynamic and versatile teacher with transferable skills would be equally encouraged to apply.
The salary and package will be dependent on experience and on the school’s own scale which is well above the maintained sector.
