Our client, an independent boarding school in Cambridgeshire, is looking for a suitable Graduate Boarding Assistant to join their successful and thriving school.

The school is an established day and boarding school which is part of a wider group of independent schools. The college caters to local day students and full-time international boarders. The college has been graded outstanding at inspection showing particular strength for boarding care and academic achievement.

Currently, the college requires a Graduate Boarding Assistant to support the sixth form aged boarders, all of whom are international. The college requires a high achieving graduate with a passion for as education to start as soon as reasonably possible. In September 2019 the college opened a brand new boarding facility and are looking for graduates to take on pastoral responsibility for the new students who have joined the college. Since September, the college has allocated additional funds to further grown the boarding team.

The role of the Graduate Boarding Assistant is to support the well-being and safety of the boarders, and enrich the learning experience of the students. The college can be flexible as to the hours and days that the incoming graduate boarding assistant commits to and will be able to offer a variety of options in terms of hours allocated. There will be an opportunity for aspiring pastoral leaders to take on additional responsibilities and relevant training provided.

This post would suit someone who is articulate, professionally minded and interested in the pastoral wellbeing of young people. Due to work patterns, the post could suit someone looking to work while they undertake further study, for example, an MA or Ph.D. Equally, the post could suit someone who wants to start their career in education and wants to gain valuable experience at an award-winning school.
