Our client, a successful and academically selective Independent Prep School in the South of London is looking to appoint a Head of Art to their thriving and dynamic school from September 2020. The school is large and co-educational with outstanding facilities for both staff and students alike. Staff consistently and repeatedly describe the school as a happy place to work, with a supportive leadership team and access to a range of different professional development programmes in place.

The school is looking to appoint a passionate, engaging and inspiring Head of Art from September 2020 on a full-time and permanent basis. Art plays a large role within the school, and as such the ideal Head of Art must hold teaching qualifications and have experience delivering Art at either Primary or Secondary level. The Head of Art will be responsible for teaching Art from Y3 to Y8, and for liaising with the Head of EYFS regarding the delivery of Art within the Early Years department. In addition to this, the Head of Art will be responsible for creating a long term developmental plan for the Art department, ensuring that Art continues to be engaging and exciting for pupils. Further, as Head of Art, the successful candidate must have a sound understanding of the assessment frameworks.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required for the Head of Art post, as establishing strong relationships with both parents and staff is essential.
