Head of Computing

Our client, an independent school in Cambridgeshire, is looking for a highly qualified and experienced Head of Computing to join their high achieving and well regarded institution.

The school is an independent senior co-educational boarding and day school, part of the prestigious HMC group. They offer an excellent and high quality education to pupils aged 11 to 18 years. During recent years the school has had an ambitious programme of building and refurbishment, including a new Humanities building, the construction of an Art, Design and Technology Centre and a Sports Complex. The schools aim is to provide a first-class boarding and day education for boys and girls, building their confidence by enabling them to fulfil their potential academically, culturally, physically, spiritually and socially. They offer a broad curriculum which is both attractive and educationally sound, and to guide all pupils towards their highest possible examination grades, while at the same time opening their eyes to the excitement of academic study and independent learning.

Our client requires an outstanding Head of Computing to join and lead the flourishing and successful department, which includes two full-time Computing teachers. The Head of Computing will teach engaged students with high aspirations. The successful Head of Computing applicant will likely be a computing graduate who is knowledgeable in their field, having excellent academics themselves. They will also have experience teaching computer science at both GCSE and A Level. The successful Head of Computing applicant will possess a natural ability to build rapport with young people and be able to break complex ideas and topics down to accessible chunks that students can retain. The Head of Computing candidate will be expected to take an active role in developing STEM further in the school.

Position is full time, permanent from September 2020. Salary is competitive.
