Our client, a reputable independent senior school in central London, is seeking a new Head of Middle School. This individual would be leading both pastorally and academically with Years 9, 10 and 11.
The role of Head of Middle School holds significant importance and responsibility, encompassing oversight of the personal and academic growth of each student as they prepare for their initial national exams. Acting as the central point of communication between teachers, tutors, and parents, the Head of Middle School ensures a cohesive support system for the students.
Supported by Deputy Heads in pastoral care and academics, the Head collaborates with section leaders, fostering an environment of shared best practices and continuous training. The Head of Middle School guides students through their educational journey towards GCSEs, Sixth Form, and beyond.

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Middle School plays a vital role in the school’s leadership and management, actively promoting its objectives and maintaining a culture of achievement and excellence.
While teaching a reduced timetable, the Head also serves as one of three Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. While preferred subjects include English, Chemistry, Economics & Business Studies, Physical Education, Philosophy, and Modern Foreign Languages, applications from all disciplines are welcomed and considered.

- Have outstanding subject knowledge, academic qualifications and to be able to communicate their enthusiasm.
- Be able to deliver dynamic and effective lessons to the full ability range of pupils at the school.
- Highly effective communication skills for interacting with all members of the school community.
- A genuine commitment to pastoral care and the welfare and safeguarding of pupils.
- Interests and abilities that can enhance the School’s co-curricular programme.
- Excellent inter-personal skills.
- Excellent administrative, organisational, and IT skills.
