The School:
Our client is a co-educational prep school, for 3- 11 year olds, located in Brighton, seeking a new Headteacher. In keeping with the schools ethos of bringing out the best in each and every child, the school is small and personal. The class sizes are small and ensure that every child from the beginning of their time with the school feels valued and cared for with a special part to play in the everyday life of the school.
The school is based within a close knit community with strong ties to children’s families, and academic support although the school excels in this area as well. The school supports teaching in a non-pressured, happy way, encouraging a love of learning and bringing out the many facets of the pupils personalities and seeking a Headteacher who values these qualities.
The new Headteacher will be leading a school where children enjoy a vibrant, broad curriculum that stimulates, challenges and excites. The children are happy pupils, as the school believe that they learn more and give more if they are in a nurturing place that they love. The school offers excellent pastoral support and encourage manners and respect for one another.
The Role:
An outstanding and passionate Head Teacher is required to join this school, from September 2020, to take the school forward. The successful Headteacher will be a strong educator and leader, with the vision to take this school further.
The appointed candidate will be an exceptional and charismatic leader, who has a clear vision for what makes a successful independent school, and will be someone who can develop lasting positive relationships with staff and parents alike. The successful candidate will have experience of the independent schools sector as a teacher and leadership experience at various levels, experience of managing, developing, motivating and inspiring staff and experience of school financial management.
This Headteacher position would suit an experienced Deputy Head teacher who is looking for their first Headship or an already experienced Headteacher looking for a new challenge. The Successful Candidate needs to meet the Essential criteria:
* A good degree and a strong academic background
* Successful teaching experience across the ability and age range
* Ability and confidence to manage a staff team and work with well with parents and children
Desirable:
- Deputy Head or Headteacher experience, ideally within the Independent Sector
