Learning Support Teacher – Independent Prep School

Timetable: Part Time (3 days a week, Wednesday to Friday, with some additional days as required)

Qualification: PGCE OR Level 5 or above SpLD teaching Dyslexic Students
Our client, an excellent independent prep school in North London, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Learning Support Teacher to join their thriving school.
Our client is an established prep school with an excellent reputation across London thanks to its excellent teaching, broad curriculum and high pupil aspirations. The prep school has around 400 boys on roll ages 4 to 13 and feeds to some of the best selective senior schools in London. The ability of the pupils is mixed on entry but achievement is high throughout the school and pupils well exceed the national average.
There is currently a Learning Support Teacher vacancy in the School Support Team. A Learning Support Teacher is required from September 2022 to support the children in the school, ensuring that the high standards, aims, policies and administrative procedures are maintained. The successful Learning Support Teacher for this role will teach either 1:1 or small group lessons.
This post will require a part time commitment and is a permanent role. The incoming Learning Support Teacher will need to be able to teach diligently and competently at a level that academically challenges and supports the child. The incoming Learning Support Teacher will report to the Head of Learning Support as well as the Head Teacher and will have excellent communication skills, being able to develop lasting positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike.
A suitable candidate profile may include:
- Degree & PGCE OR Level 5 or above SpLD teaching Dyslexic Students
- Experience working with children between the ages of 3-13
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience working in secondary at KS3/KS4 level
The salary will be determined on the school’s own generous scale and will be discussed at interview.
