Maths Teacher – Independent Prep School

Salary: £36,000 – £48,000

Our client, a highly sought-after pre-prep and prep school in Hampstead, is looking for a suitably qualified Maths Teacher to join their school on a full time and permanent basis. Our client is an established school with an excellent reputation across London as a leading co-educational pre-preparatory and preparatory school.

The successful Maths Teacher will be working in a structured environment with a strong focus on academics and feeding selective schools in North London. They are required to start as soon as possible to support the ethos of the school, maintain discipline and uphold high standards of conduct and appearance.

With this vacancy, there is also an opportunity added to this to be the Head of Maths for a year, with current incumbent going on maternity leave from January 2023. This would add a potential £2,000 – £4,000 to the yearly salary. The Head of Maths position would be on a temporary basis only and the successful candidate would return to the position of Maths Teacher when the current incumbent returns.

This post will require a full-time commitment and the salary would be based on experience. The incoming Maths Teacher will have excellent communication skills, being able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with pupils, parents, staff and members of the school community.

A suitable candidate profile may include:

• A good degree in a relevant discipline
• Sufficient experience teaching Key Stage 3 Mathematics
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding is desirable
