Salary: £20,000 – £30,000
We are recruiting an accomplished PA to the Headteacher to provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Headteacher on a permanent contract commencing ASAP
The School:
This established school was recently ranked in the top 10 schools nationally for academic achievement and has excellent on-site facilities which link the school to the local community. The school is situated on expansive rural grounds which are well maintained and, in some areas, have been developed to provide students with first-rate sporting facilities. The main school is housed in a listed building but there are also modern labs and a variety of classroom types in newer buildings on the same site making for an excellent working environment as well as learning. The school is co-educational and academically selective, and the standard of teaching reflects the enthusiastic collegiate attitude of the pupils.
The role:
The position of PA to the Headteacher is, primarily, to the support the smooth running of the Headteacher’s office in a secretarial and administrative capacity. The role will be offered on a permanent contract starting in September 2019. The role requires an array of skills and experience relevant to a school management and administrative position. Not only will the job require organisation and diary management of the Headteacher but also communication with parents, general fluency with school procedures, events organization and general Headteacher’s Office administrative support across the school.
The successful candidate:
The job of PA to the Headteacher is a role which requires many practical skills and experiences, and the successful candidate will have:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills being able to connect with pupils, staff and parents confidently as the first point of contact for queries and often being ‘the face’ of the school.
* Excellent organization skills to competently manage the Head’s appointments in a competent and effective way
* Be computer literate
* Will be flexible to work outside of the job description when required in order to support the Headteacher effectively
It is desirable the candidate will have:
*Experience in a school setting
Salary will be on the school’s own scale and dependent on experience.
