Primary Teacher – British International Prep School
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Start Date: August 2021
Contract: 2 year, Full Time
Salary: Competitive to UK MTPS but TAX FREE* + accommodation + flights + international package benefits
We are looking to recruit an exceptional Primary Teacher for a large British curriculum coeducational Prep School in Cairo, Egypt.
The school is a new school that has opened this year and is a sister school of one the UK’s premium historic brands in British education. This purpose-built school inhabits Cairo’s wealthy development in New Cairo and staff are provided with accommodation premises nearby. The school will initially be a junior school and grow into a Through School as the school scaffolds and pupils matriculate to the secondary school. The school provides education to the highest standards in accordance with the standards given by its UK counterpart. Like the UK school’s programme, as well as academic rigour, great emphasis is placed on co-curricular activities and personal development. The school is part of a global network of schools with strong links to the UK meaning CPD and opportunities are high quality and plentiful. The pupils at the school are all ex-pat families living locally in this affluent part of Cairo.
The appointed candidate will be a well-qualified and charismatic primary teacher, with either a specialist in EYFS, KS1 or KS2. They will be someone who has a clear vision for what makes a successful classroom environment and will be someone who can develop lasting positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents alike. The successful candidate will have experience in the UK system as a classroom teacher and will have a strong academic background from a reputable university including an additional Qualified Teaching Status ( QTS ) certification. More generally, the school wants to see applications from dynamic teachers with provable track records for achievement who would be a warm presence in this thriving and exciting school.
This position would suit an experienced teacher or someone new to the profession. An ideal candidate would have a mix of experience in the UK and some overseas showing a steady career history with progression and consistency although teachers from the UK without prior international experience are warmly welcomed to apply. Ideally, we are looking for candidates with experience of the British Independent Schools system but this is not essential and candidates from the maintained sector will also be considered. Experience of the British curriculum for primary is essential and if a candidate can demonstrate teaching pupils with high proportions of EAL that would be an advantage.
