Psychology Teacher – Independent Sixth Form

Timetable: Part Time or Full Time (flexible)

Our client, an independent sixth form in Cambridge, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Psychology Teacher to join their high achieving, well-regarded institution.

The sixth form is part of a wider group of independent schools that caters to a mix of local and international students. Academic achievement is well above average and many students go on to Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities in the UK and leading universities around the world. As well as KS5, the college also tutor for undergraduate and foundation degree level as well as Pre-U.

Currently the college requires an outstanding Psychology Teacher to support the smooth running of the department. The Psychology Teacher will teach engaged students with high aspirations. The successful Psychology Teacher applicant will likely be a psychology graduate who is knowledgeable in their field, having excellent academics themselves. They will also possess a natural ability to build rapport with young people and be able to break complex ideas and topics down to accessible chunks that students can retain.

There is some flexibility with the timetabling so this role could be more or fewer hours (between 12-18 hours per week) on a part-time teaching timetable or something full-time if the candidate can offer something else to the school in addition. If a teacher wanted to offer a second subject there might also be scope for this as well.
