Reception Teacher – Independent Prep School

Our client, an independent boy’s preparatory school in North London, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of Reception Teacher to join their successful and thriving department.

Our client is an established prep school with an excellent reputation across London thanks to its excellent teaching, broad curriculum and high pupil aspirations. The prep school has around 400 boys on roll ages 4 to 13 and feeds to some of the best selective senior schools in London. The ability of the pupils is mixed on entry but achievement is high throughout the school and pupils well exceed the national average.

There is currently a vacancy for a Reception Teacher to join the school on a contract lasting 12 months starting from September. The Reception Teacher role requires teaching EYFS on a full-time timetable to engaged learners in a nurturing, well-resourced prep school setting. In addition to supporting pupils in the classroom, it is expected that the successful candidate will commit to the school’s broad extracurricular programme and the school offers a range of activities and programmes for pupils and staff to be involved with. Class sizes are kept small and the pupils are engaged and well-behaved.

The successful Reception Teacher candidate will be a graduate of a reputable university with some experience teaching EYFS at this level. They will be a strong communicator and good role model setting a good example for the pupils in the school. A dynamic and versatile teacher is required and the school will consider candidates new to the profession as well as very experienced teachers.

The salary and package will be dependent on experience and on the school’s own scale which is well above the maintained sector.
