School Secretary

School Secretary – Independent Prep School

Location: Camden
Job Start: September 2019 or sooner
Timetable: Full Time
Contract: Permanent
Package: £25,000 – £31,000

Our client, a well-regarded Independent Preparatory School in London, is looking for a suitably experienced school secretary to join their successful and thriving school.

The School:
The school is an established Prep Day School in trendy West London which caters for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 13 and prepares them for entry into the country’s leading senior schools. There is also a feeder nursery nearby to the school. The academic performance of the school is well above the national average despite the school being non-selective on entry. The school has an excellent reputation for placing pupils into the right follow-on schools and has been commended for successfully producing well rounded, academic and happy students. The school has received the highest award at inspection and continues to be a leading school in a competitive area of London. Class sizes are small and children are engaged and hardworking.

The role:
The school secretary will join a committed team of office support staff that handle phone enquiries from the school reception, support the smooth running of the back-office functions that are integral to the day to day operation of the site, and provide PA support to the senior leadership team when required.

The role of school secretary requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A lesser aspect of the role may require the scheduling and taking of minutes for meetings intermittently throughout the year. In addition, school secretary education-specific administrative functions, such as compiling data regarding pupil attendance or using Microsoft Office programmes, will also be required. Also the role will require being able to work flexibly, often outside of your job description, supporting colleagues throughout the school.

Previous experience as a school secretary isn’t required but would be helpful for any application.

Salary will be determined on the schools own generous scale and will be commensurate with skillset and experience.

We reserve the right to interview applicants and appoint as and when an application is received which might be before the closing date of the advert so please apply promptly.

If you do have the relevant requirements and would like to be considered for this opportunity please send through your CV, or call Phil at Connaught for more information.
