SENCO – Independent Prep School

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: April or September 2021

School status: Mainstream, Independent

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced SENCO to support the smooth running of this excellent mainstream independent school on a permanent basis from April or September 2021.

Our client is an independent prep school with an associated nursery, in South London. The school offers a broad curriculum and encourages creativity from early age. The school is selective and is single-sex.

The role of SENCO is varied and will involve a wide range of duties supporting all pupils throughout the school. Candidates with experience of a broad range of SEN experience are preferred but an emphasis on SpLD is required. Ideally, the successful SENCO will have the NASECO award or the Level 5 OCR Qualification in SpLD.

The ideal person will be an experienced Teacher and SENCO who has a thorough knowledge of Primary Education and strong organisational and people skills who is able to prioritise well. An ability to work closely with others and share tasks is essential.

The role of SENCO is a strategic one, and the successful SENCO will be required to manage the SEN department, so managerial experience is desired but not essential.

If you do have the relevant requirements and would like to be considered for the role of SENCO please send through your CV, or call Mhairi at Connaught for more information.
