Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENDCo) – Preparatory School

Location: Central London
Start: September 2020
Salary: excellent salary and matched to candidates’ qualification & experience and some additional staff benefits

Connaught Education are currently supporting a leading co-educational Independent Day School in the heart of London, on the appointment of their Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENDCo) from September 2020. At their last inspection, our client was rated ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED, and has a long-standing history of providing children with a broad curriculum and academic excellence. From September 2020, our client is looking to appoint a full-time and permanent Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo). The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) will be educated to degree level, ideally with QTS status or experience of teaching within an Independent School. The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo)will be responsible for the assessment of pupils on the SEN register, ensuring that the correct access arrangements are in place for classroom and assessment support. The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) will also be responsible for identifying pupils with Special Educational Needs and working alongside teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure that provisions are in place to best support pupils. Where needed, the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) will also need to cover lessons, and so experience teaching is desirable.

Candidates interested in applying for the role of Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) are encouraged to apply, as our client is looking to hold interviews immediately after the half-term break.
