Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT)

Contract: Fixed Term, Full-Time

Our client, an independent school in Sussex is looking for an qualified and suitably experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT) to join their school. The post is a 12 month, fixed-term contract, and our client is looking for the successful Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT) to begin as soon as possible.
The successful Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT) must be familiar in working with a diverse range of speech and language based needs, including but not limited to Autism, Dyslexia and Hearing Impairment. The Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT) must also be aware of national policies, codes of practice and ethics and maintain relevant career professional development. You will also be expected to deliver workshops to staff and pupils on relevant issues relating to Speech and Language based difficulties.
The ideal Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT) will be:
- Hold at least a BSc in Speech and Language Therapy, and be registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, or the Health and Care Professional Council.
- At least 1 years’ experience post qualification, ideally working with children/young people
- Experience working within a school/college setting
- Familiar working with other Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT), and with outside agencies
- Able to work independently and with initiative
- Have exceptional communication skills, listening skills and assessment skills.
It is also essential that the successful Speech and Language Therapist (SALT, SpLT) work with empathy and enthusiasm, with a genuine interest for working with young people.
