Our client, a highly sought after pre-prep and prep school in Hampstead, is looking for a suitably qualified Teacher of Religious Studies to join their school on a full time and permanent basis from September 2024.

The school is part of one the most successful private schools groups in the UK, providing outstanding pastoral and academic outcomes to pupils and outstanding opportunities for professional development to staff at all levels.

The successful Religious Studies Teacher will be working in a structured environment with a strong focus on academics and feeding selective schools in North London. The incoming Religious Studies Teacher will have high expectations for all children, as well as excellent organisational skills.

This post will require a full-time commitment and the salary would be based on experience. The incoming Religious Studies Teacher will have excellent communication skills, being able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with pupils, parents, staff and members of the school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time.
  • Plan lessons and sequences of lessons to meet pupils’ individual learning needs and plan effectively to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential.
  • Secure a high standard of pupil behaviour in the classroom, through establishing appropriate rules and high expectations of discipline which pupils respect and use a range of appropriate strategies for teaching and classroom management.

The incoming Religious Studies Teacher will teach across varying Key Stages up to Year 8. A suitable candidate profile will include:

  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at prep level
  • A good degree in a relevant discipline
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience teaching up to Key Stage 3
